How sad it is:
never authoring
the laws
which bind us.
How sad it is:
to shrug
when asked
which way to go.
How sad it is:
watching villains
hold hands
with heroes.
How sad it is:
when greed
counts as
generosity.
How sad it is:
to hug oneself
in the mirror
and pray for love.
How sad it is:
telling baggers
unlucky labor
“Have a nice day”.
How sad it is:
drugged,
homeless,
broken.
How sad it is:
pregnant,
cheated,
behind.
How sad it is:
all the crying
and the silence.
